Restorative dentistry, fillings
Caries often develop without any symptoms, insidiously lurking. Most patients do not experience sensitivity or pain, so you may believe that there is nothing wrong with their teeth. Unfortunately, in the absence of these complaints, large caries can develop. That is why a thorough dental check-up performed every six months to one year is recommended. In our practice, we only work with very high-quality filling materials that are both aesthetically and functionally excellent. (this is also why we offer a long warranty on our dental fillings).
We strive to create a beautiful, lively tooth surface in the back regions as in the clearly visible front areas. Depending on the depth of the decay, a medicated lining may be necessary, which protects the periodontium from possible later irritation. Or speaking of a pulp cap, we promote the formation of the so-called tertiary tooth material, thereby delaying or making root canal treatment completely unnecessary.
Tooth neck fillings
In many cases, tooth sensitivity is caused by an exposed tooth neck. In this case, a long-term solution is to cover the involved tooth surface with an aesthetic filling. This stops the patient’s shooting pain which comes from reacting to cold or hot, sometimes to sweet. The neck filling is completely invisible and very aesthetic. To the great delight of patients, it does not require drilling, so the procedure is completely painless. It’s advantage can be also a disadvantage sometimes: since we do not need to create a retention cavity, the filling can detach from the surface of the tooth during brushing and eating.
